Abundant Grace of God Maternity Center
Abundant Grace of God Maternity Center (AGGMC) is a charity birthing home in the Philippines that was established by Georgia and Achao Macad in 2007. The vision for the maternity center is to share God’s love with the families through maternity care. Kalinga, an isolated province still plagued with tribal wars and poverty, is one of the most beautiful and untouched regions of the Philippines. People in Kalinga have historically had very minimal access to medical care. In fact, before the maternity center opened, most local women delivered their babies at home on their own, without any prenatal care or an attending doctor or midwife. Many of these women and babies died due to complications that would have been easily preventable with adequate care from a qualified midwife. Since opening in 2007, over 3000 babies have been delivered at the Abundant Grace of God Maternity Center at virtually no cost to the families and over 25 local midwives have been trained with lifesaving skills. In 2012 the sister clinic in the remote mountains of Bugnay, Tinglayan was opened. The financial support from the Table Church assists with the expenses related to the purchase of medical supplies for the AGGMC.
Ways to Get Involved:
• Pray for the two clinics – for the Filipino staff who are running the clinics on their own while Georgia and Achao and their children are on sabbatical from July 2021 until July 2022.
• Donations of baby clothes, blankets and linens are always needed for the clinic. Contact Sarah Rathjen for more details.
• Both the clinics and the Macad family are currently under-supported financially. You can give directly to the clinic through the link below or to the Macad family through this link.
